Everyone knows Duke Windzorice as a cold and formidable ruler, but to the young saint Lilliette, he is the only kind adult she has ever met—someone capable of saving her from the Temple’s cruelty. After she restores his eyesight, she is given refuge in Windzorice Castle, though the Temple refuses to release its grip on her. To protect her, the duke devises a seemingly flawless plan: they will present her to the world as his daughter.
